The Canucks opened the scoring early with a goal in the first period but were quickly overwhelmed as the Golden Knights responded with four goals before the buzzer. The second period saw both teams net one goal each, maintaining Vegas's lead. In an attempt to rally back, Vancouver managed another goal in the third period but was ultimately outmatched by Vegas's additional score.

Vancouver's performance showcased their resilience and ability to fight back despite being down. They registered a total of 30 shots on goal and successfully converted one out of three powerplay opportunities into a goal. Their powerplay unit worked efficiently with seven shots taken during man advantages and two assists recorded on their lone powerplay goal.

Defensively, however, it was a tough night for Vancouver as they allowed six goals from an equal number of shots faced (30). The Canucks' goaltender made 24 saves throughout the game but couldn't withstand Vegas's offensive pressure which resulted in four even-strength goals against them.

Despite losing by three goals and having a minus ten plus-minus rating for this game, there were positive takeaways for Vancouver fans. The team won more than half (57 percent) of faceoffs contested and blocked twelve shots while delivering twenty-six hits over three periods.
