In an intense matchup at Rogers Arena, the Vancouver Canucks displayed a robust effort but ultimately fell to the Nashville Predators. Despite outshooting their opponents with 18 attempts on goal compared to the Predators' 16, the Canucks could only convert one into a score. The home team's shooting accuracy was notably lower than their counterparts', registering at six percent while Nashville boasted an impressive twenty-five percent success rate.

The Canucks were more physical throughout the game, delivering forty-seven hits against thirty from Nashville. However, this aggressive play did not translate into dominance on the scoreboard. Both teams had equal opportunities with four powerplays each; yet neither managed to capitalize on these chances.

Vancouver excelled in faceoffs won by securing twenty-nine victories in fifty attempts which translated into a fifty-eight percent win rate for faceoffs. This control over puck possession did not deter Nashville's resolve as they scored four even-strength goals and added an empty-netter to seal their victory.

Goaltending was critical for both sides as well. The Canucks' netminder saved twelve out of fifteen shots during regular play but allowed three goals past him before an empty-net goal brought his total goals against to four for this encounter. On the other side of the ice, Nashville's goalie put up a formidable barrier by saving seventeen out of eighteen shots directed his way throughout sixty minutes of playtime.
