Game Highlights

The match at Prudential Center saw both teams locked in a tight contest through regulation and overtime. The Canucks opened the scoring in the first period but were held scoreless in the second. They managed to find the back of the net twice more in the third period before heading into overtime, where neither team could break the deadlock. Ultimately, it was Vancouver's prowess during the shootout that clinched their victory, scoring two goals to New Jersey's one.

Pius Suter stood out for Vancouver with two goals during regular play, showcasing his critical role in their offense. Thatcher Demko also had an impressive night between the pipes for Vancouver, making 22 saves on 25 shots and playing a pivotal role during both overtime and shootout phases.

On New Jersey's side, Timo Meier was among their top performers but couldn't steer his team to victory despite scoring one goal and being named one of the game's stars.

Player Performances

Quinn Hughes contributed significantly to Vancouver's success with an assist and six shots on goal over more than half an hour on ice. Jonathan Lekkerimaki also made notable contributions with one goal from just two shots.

Despite not converting on any powerplay opportunities throughout this tightly contested match-up—where both teams had two chances each—the Canucks excelled at even strength and showed resilience by bouncing back whenever they faced adversity from The Devils' attempts to take control of the game.

Looking ahead, The Vancouver Canucks will face off against The New York Islanders at UBS Arena on March 26th at 7:30 PM EDT. Fans can catch all action live on ESPN+ or MSGSN as both teams look forward to securing another win under their belts as they progress through this season’s campaign.
