First Period

The opening period saw the Minnesota Wild take an early lead with a goal that set the tone for their performance. The Canucks struggled to find their rhythm early on and were unable to capitalize on any scoring opportunities during this period.

Second Period

In the second period, Vancouver's Elias Pettersson managed to break through and score for his team, leveling the playing field momentarily. However, Minnesota responded swiftly with another goal of their own. The Nucks' powerplay unit had several chances but failed to convert any into goals.

Third Period

The final period was where things took a turn for Vancouver as they conceded three more goals while only managing one themselves. A standout moment came when Joel Eriksson Ek from Minnesota delivered a crucial play that widened their lead significantly. Despite efforts from players like Max Sasson and Drew O'Connor who showed determination throughout, it wasn't enough to change the tide.

Overall, Vancouver's goaltender Thatcher Demko made 22 saves out of 27 shots but couldn't hold back Minnesota’s offensive surge in this matchup at Grand Casino Arena.
