The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses, but it was the Flyers who struck first, taking an early lead. The Nucks managed to respond with a goal from Drew O'Connor, who showcased his offensive prowess by contributing significantly throughout the game. Despite their efforts, Vancouver ended the period trailing behind.

Second Period

In this period, defensive strategies took center stage as both teams tightened up their play. However, it was Philadelphia that capitalized on opportunities and extended their lead by adding two more goals to their tally. The Canucks struggled to find openings against a resolute Flyers defense and were unable to score during this segment.

However, despite these efforts and outshooting their opponents with 35 shots compared to Philadelphia's 33, they couldn't close the gap entirely.

Philadelphia's Matvei Michkov was instrumental in maintaining pressure on Vancouver’s defense throughout all periods and contributed significantly alongside goaltender Dan Vladar’s impressive performance between the pipes for Philly.
