First Period

The game began with both teams displaying strong defensive plays. The Canucks managed to score first, thanks to Elias Pettersson's sharp shooting. However, the Habs quickly responded with a goal of their own, leveling the score by the end of the period.

Second Period

In an intense second period, Max Sasson and Evander Kane each found the back of the net for Vancouver. Despite these efforts, Montreal matched their pace by scoring twice as well. The period ended in a deadlock as both teams headed into what would be a decisive final stretch.

Third Period

The third period saw an explosive performance from Montreal's Juraj Slafkovský and Ivan Demidov who led their team to victory by contributing significantly on offense. Alexandre Carrier also played a pivotal role in securing this win for his team. The Canucks struggled defensively during this segment and were unable to add any more goals to their tally.

Despite Nikita Tolopilo’s commendable effort between the pipes with 35 saves throughout the match, it was not enough to hold back Montreal’s offensive surge in this crucial phase of play.
