In a closely contested match at Scotiabank Saddledome, the Vegas Golden Knights displayed resilience but ultimately fell short against the Calgary Flames. The game saw both teams locked in an intense battle, with the Golden Knights managing to secure a single goal during regulation time. Despite their efforts, they were unable to add more to their tally as they faced off against a determined Flames squad.

The Golden Knights opened up scoring with a powerplay goal which was also their only goal of the night. Their powerplay unit had three opportunities and capitalized on one of them with four shots taken during these chances. They ended up with an overall shooting percentage of four percent from twenty-eight shots throughout the game.

Defensively, Vegas showed tenacity by blocking twenty-six shots and delivering seventeen hits over the course of play. However, they struggled in faceoff circles winning only forty-five percent of fifty-five faceoffs and ended up with a minus-nine plus-minus rating for the evening.

The goaltending for Vegas was noteworthy as well; despite conceding two goals including one during overtime that decided the game's outcome, they saved thirty-two out of thirty-four shots faced which translates into an impressive save percentage of ninety-four percent.

On offense, giveaways were an issue for Vegas as they turned over possession ten times compared to fourteen by Calgary. Both teams incurred six penalty minutes from three minor penalties each but neither side could exploit these situations effectively beyond that single powerplay goal by Vegas.

For Calgary's part, their performance was marked by twenty hits and two goals from thirty-four shots giving them a shooting percentage close to six percent. Their goaltender saved twenty-seven out of twenty-eight shots resulting in a save percentage close to ninety-six percent which proved crucial in securing victory for them on home ice before an attendance crowd numbering seventeen thousand and thirty-one fans.

Looking ahead for fans eager to follow their team's journey, The Vegas Golden Knights will next take on Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place on November 28th at 7:00 PM local time (9:00 PM EST). This encounter can be watched live nationally via ESPN+ or locally through SCRIPPS network channels.
