The Golden Knights opened their account early in the first period but couldn't maintain their momentum as the Predators responded with two goals to take an early lead. The second period saw no additional points from the home team while Nashville doubled their advantage. Despite a valiant effort by Vegas in the third period where they scored twice, it was not enough to overcome Nashville's single goal which sealed their victory.

For fans of the Golden Knights, there were notable performances despite the loss. The team managed to hit 27 times and blocked an impressive number of shots at 19. Their goaltender saved 35 out of 40 shots on goal but unfortunately conceded four goals during play and one on an empty net. On offense, they took a total of 26 shots and successfully converted three into goals for a shooting percentage identical to that of their opponents at twelve percent.

The powerplay unit for Vegas showed some effectiveness by scoring once out of four opportunities; however, they won only twenty-nine percent of faceoffs during these situations which might have limited further scoring chances. At even strength, they scored twice from seventeen shots and were able to win forty-seven percent of all faceoffs throughout the game.

On defense, despite conceding five goals overall including one empty-netter towards game's end by Nashville's even-strength line-up which tallied five goals from thirty-four shots – indicating room for improvement in defensive play without sacrificing offensive aggression.
