Can the Golden Knights Tame the Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena?

As the Vegas Golden Knights prepare to face off against the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena, fans are undoubtedly dissecting every statistic and past performance to forecast the outcome of this much-anticipated clash. The VGK's recent games paint a picture of a team that is as unpredictable as it is formidable.

In their last game on March 1st against the Boston Bruins, VGK showed an impressive resilience in periods two and three, scoring three and one goals respectively. However, despite outshooting their opponents 36 to 32 and winning 54 percent of faceoffs, they fell short with a final score of 4-5. This loss was marked by an inability to capitalize on power plays and a goaltending performance that saw five goals slip through from just 32 shots.

Rewinding further back to February 28th against the Toronto Maple Leafs, VGK demonstrated what they're capable of when firing on all cylinders. A six-goal onslaught with a shooting percentage of 19 percent led them to victory despite being out-hit and giving away more penalties. Their goaltender stood tall with saves from all but two of the Maple Leafs' shots.

However, consistency seems elusive for VGK as evidenced by their February 25th game versus Ottawa Senators which ended in an overtime shootout loss (3-4). Despite scoring in each period and maintaining solid goaltending throughout regulation time, they couldn't clinch victory during overtime or shootout phases.

The upcoming battle with SEA will require VGK not only to bring their offensive A-game but also tighten up defensively if they wish to emerge victorious. The Kraken's home advantage at Climate Pledge Arena could play into their hands unless VGK can harness the same energy that saw them dominate Toronto just weeks ago.

VGK fans should look for key players who have shown tenacity in recent games – those who can break through SEA's defenses while also supporting their own goalie who will need to be sharp against SEA's attack. Special teams could be pivotal; power play opportunities must be seized upon more effectively than in previous outings if VGK hopes for success.

The scheduled date for this encounter is March 13th at Climate Pledge Arena where fans can catch all the action live on ESPN+ via internet streaming or tune into ROOT Sports NW or SCRIPPS on television starting at 7:00 PM local time (10:00 PM Eastern Time). Will Vegas leave Seattle’s waters victorious? Only time will tell if they can navigate through treacherous tides and capture another win on enemy ice.
