The home team, the Golden Knights, showcased their offensive capabilities by firing a total of 47 shots towards the Blue Jackets' net. Their efforts paid off as they managed to put four past the opposing goaltender. The powerplay unit contributed significantly with one goal from two opportunities and an impressive faceoff win percentage of 67 percent during those man advantages. The even-strength play was also fruitful for Vegas as they scored three goals on 45 shots.

Key players for the Golden Knights stepped up when it mattered most. Their shooting accuracy stood at eight percent and their playmaking resulted in seven assists across all goals scored. Despite winning less than half of their faceoffs overall, at a rate of 48 percent, they did not let this statistic hinder their performance on ice.

Defensively, Vegas was equally strong with goaltenders saving all but two shots for a perfect save percentage in shorthanded situations and an overall save percentage rounding up to one hundred percent over sixty minutes of playtime. They blocked thirteen shots and took away possession from Columbus nine times throughout the contest.

On the other side of the rink, despite being outshot by a wide margin, Columbus's goaltender had an impressive night with forty-three saves against forty-seven shots faced; however, it wasn't enough to secure victory for his team. The Blue Jackets were able to capitalize twice on twenty-two attempts but struggled in powerplay situations where they failed to convert any of their single opportunity into a goal.
