The Golden Knights opened the scoring in the first period and maintained their lead until the third, where the Blues managed to equalize, pushing the game into overtime. It was during this critical juncture that Vegas showcased their resilience and secured their winning goal, marking a significant triumph on away ice.

Vegas' goaltender was an impenetrable force, saving all but one of 32 shots faced, culminating in a perfect save percentage during overtime and contributing significantly to his team's success. The offensive front was equally impressive with a total of 34 shots taken and six points earned by players wearing Golden Knights jerseys.

Despite being outmatched at faceoffs with only a 44 percent win rate compared to St. Louis' more dominant performance at 56 percent, Vegas capitalized on their opportunities when it mattered most. Their tenacity resulted in an even-strength shooting percentage of six percent and an important power play presence despite not converting any chances into goals.

On defense, Vegas blocked an admirable number of attempts from St. Louis with a total of 14 blocked shots while delivering consistent pressure through hits and takeaways totaling at 23 and ten respectively.

The Blues put up a strong fight throughout regulation time; they were particularly effective on special teams with better faceoff statistics during power plays (80 percent) and shorthanded situations (67 percent). However, they fell just short as they couldn't find another past Vegas' stalwart goaltender after tying up late in regulation time.

Looking ahead for fans eager to follow their team's progress: The next game for the Vegas Golden Knights will be against Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena on March 27th. This match can be viewed live via ESPN+ online or through BSSO or SCRIPPS television networks starting from around midnight Central Time Zone.
