Golden Knights' Second Period Surge Not Enough to Overcome Coyotes at Mullett Arena

The Golden Knights entered Mullett Arena aiming to improve their standing but were met with resistance from a determined Coyotes squad. Despite a strong second period where the Golden Knights scored all four of their goals, it was not enough to secure victory. The team's shooting accuracy was notable as they managed a shooting percentage of 17 percent from their total shots on goal.

The offensive efforts were led by an impressive display during even strength play where the Golden Knights netted four goals from twenty-one shots. However, they struggled on powerplays and failed to capitalize on any of their four opportunities despite three shots taken during these advantageous moments.

Defensively, the Golden Knights blocked an admirable number of attempts with twenty blocked shots and delivered thirty-six hits throughout the game. Their faceoff win percentage hovered just below half at forty-eight percent which showed competitive effort in possession battles against the Coyotes.

In contrast, Arizona capitalized significantly during even strength play scoring seven goals from thirty-one shots which contributed heavily to their victory. Their shooting percentage was higher at twenty-two percent reflecting more efficient finishing in front of goal.

The goaltending for Vegas faced challenges as they saved twenty-five out of thirty-one shots during regular play but conceded one empty-net goal that brought total goals against them to seven for this encounter. The time spent defending shorthanded did not result in any conceded goals thanks to one save made during this disadvantageous position.

As fans look ahead, the Vegas Golden Knights are set for another challenge when they visit Rogers Arena to take on the Vancouver Canucks. This upcoming match is scheduled for April 9th and will be available for viewing on ESPN+ via internet streaming or through SCRIPPS network television broadcasting services starting at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (PT).
