Clash at Capital One Arena: Washington Capitals to Host Tampa Bay Lightning

In their last encounter against the Pittsburgh Penguins on November 10th, WSH displayed a powerplay strength that unfortunately did not translate into goals. Despite out-hitting their opponents with 36 hits and blocking an impressive 17 shots, they fell short in scoring efficiency with only one goal from 25 shots. This shooting percentage of just four percent is something that needs immediate attention if they are to overcome TB's challenge.

The statistics from WSH's previous games reveal a fluctuating performance. On November 8th against the Edmonton Oilers, they turned around their shooting woes by netting five goals from 31 shots – an excellent sixteen percent shooting accuracy. Their powerplay was particularly lethal, contributing four goals and proving decisive in securing victory.

However, consistency remains elusive for WSH as evidenced by their game on November 5th against the Arizona Coyotes where they managed only two goals from an overwhelming thirty-six shots. Although they won more than half of faceoffs indicating good control over puck possession, it wasn't enough to secure a win.

The key takeaway for WSH is clear: capitalize on scoring opportunities and maintain powerplay effectiveness while striving for consistency across all facets of play.

Looking ahead at TB's recent performance reveals that they are no pushovers; boasting shorthanded strength and resilience in defense as seen in their last game where they blocked nineteen shots while also being aggressive with thirty-two hits.

As we approach this highly anticipated contest between these two formidable teams, it’s evident that WSH must sharpen its offensive edge while maintaining defensive solidity to emerge victorious against TB's balanced attack.

Fans can mark their calendars for this exciting NHL showdown scheduled on November 12th at Capital One Arena in Washington DC. The puck drops at 7:00 PM EST and viewers can catch all the action live on NHL Network channel 215 or NBCS-DC channel 642 among other networks broadcasting this event nationally and internationally.
