In their most recent match against the Florida Panthers, despite an overtime loss with a final score of 2-3, the Capitals demonstrated resilience. They managed 33 hits and had a shooting percentage of 8 percent but struggled in faceoffs with only a 42 percent win rate. Their powerplay was effective, scoring twice out of four opportunities.

However, looking back at the game before that against Tampa Bay Lightning, we saw an impressive display from Washington as they secured a victory with five goals on 24 shots – showcasing an outstanding shooting percentage of 21 percent. Their faceoff win rate improved significantly to 56 percent and they were able to maintain discipline with fewer penalties.

The trend continued positively when they played on home ice against New Jersey Devils; the Capitals dominated by scoring six goals and winning by four points. Although their faceoff win rate dipped to 38 percent, it didn't hinder them from achieving an exceptional shooting percentage of 23 percent.

Analyzing these statistics reveals that while there are areas for improvement – particularly in faceoffs – Washington's offensive play has been strong. The team's ability to capitalize on powerplay opportunities could be crucial against Pittsburgh.

Fans should also take note that goaltending has been solid for Washington; saving percentages have consistently been high across these games indicating reliability between the pipes which will be essential in keeping Pittsburgh's scorers at bay.

The upcoming game is scheduled for March 8th and will be broadcasted across various networks including ESPN+ online and SportsNet PT on TV. Fans can catch all the action live as it unfolds starting from midnight Eastern Time at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
