Capitals Blaze to Calgary, Seek to Extinguish the Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome

As the Washington Capitals prepare for their upcoming clash against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome, fans are eager to see if their team can maintain its recent momentum. The Capitals have shown a strong offensive presence in their last few games, with a particularly impressive performance against the Pittsburgh Penguins where they netted six goals and kept a clean sheet. Their shooting accuracy was on point with a 21 percent shooting percentage and they dominated on special teams with both powerplay and shorthanded goals.

However, in their most recent game against the Arizona Coyotes, despite having more powerplay opportunities than usual (seven), they only managed to convert two of them into goals. This inconsistency on special teams could be an area of concern as they face off against Calgary. Additionally, while their faceoff win percentage has been hovering around 50 percent across these games, it dipped slightly in this last matchup.

Defensively, goaltending has been solid for Washington with save percentages hitting perfection in two out of three past games. Yet again though, there was a slight dip against Arizona where they conceded four times despite winning.

The venue might play an influential role; playing away from home always presents its challenges. The Capitals will need to adapt quickly to the atmosphere at Scotiabank Saddledome if they want to come out on top.

Fans can catch this exciting matchup scheduled for March 19th at 00:30 UTC (March 18th local time). The game will be broadcasted online via ESPN+ and televised through MNMT network.
