Despite these efforts, goaltender Logan Thompson faced 34 shots throughout the game but managed to save 30 attempts from entering his net. His performance was pivotal in keeping his team competitive until overtime.

Toronto capitalized on their powerplay opportunities by converting one out of two chances which proved essential for their win over Washington whose penalty kill unit struggled to contain Toronto’s offensive push during critical moments.
