Senators' Resilient Defense


On the other side, the Ottawa Senators demonstrated resilience in their defensive play. They managed to block fourteen shots over the course of the game while capitalizing on their powerplay chances by scoring two goals from five opportunities. Thomas Chabot and Josh Norris were among those who shone brightly for Ottawa; Chabot earned recognition as one of the stars of the game thanks to his defensive work that included contributing to an overtime goal which ultimately sealed their victory.


Despite facing more shots than they took (35 against 34), Ottawa's goaltender delivered an impressive performance by saving thirty-one attempts from Washington's aggressive offense.
