The Winnipeg Jets fought valiantly throughout all three periods but were unable to secure a win against their opponents. Despite out-hitting the Sabres with 19 hits compared to their 10 and having nine takeaways, which surpassed Buffalo's seven, they fell short in other key areas. The Jets' shooting percentage stood at approximately ten percent from their total of 21 shots on goal.

The home team's powerplay unit managed to convert one out of three opportunities into goals, showcasing some efficiency during man-advantage situations. However, they struggled in faceoffs throughout the game, winning only about forty-four percent compared to Buffalo's fifty-six percent success rate.
