The home team, Winnipeg Jets, showcased their resilience and ability to capitalize on opportunities throughout the game. Despite being outshot by Calgary with 35 attempts to their 25, the Jets managed to maintain efficiency in front of goal with a shooting percentage of 12 percent compared to Calgary's six percent. The goaltending for Winnipeg was particularly noteworthy as they saved 33 shots with a save percentage of approximately 94 percent.

Winnipeg's performance was not just limited to goaltending excellence; they also demonstrated strong defensive capabilities by blocking an equal number of shots as Calgary at 16 each. However, it was in giveaways where Winnipeg showed greater carelessness, committing 12 compared to Calgary's nine.

On special teams play, both teams had powerplay opportunities but neither could convert; each side had four chances but failed to score any powerplay goals. Faceoffs were nearly evenly matched throughout the night; however, Calgary held a slight edge winning about 54 percent of them against Winnipeg's approximately 46 percent.

Calgary put up a valiant effort despite falling short on the scoreboard. They recorded more hits than Winnipeg at twenty and had fewer penalties with five minor penalties totaling ten penalty minutes against Winnipeg’s three minor penalties amounting to six minutes.

As for individual performances from the Jets that stood out: there were nine assists distributed among players which contributed significantly towards their three goals scored during regulation time - all coming from even strength plays.
