The game at Rogers Arena saw the Winnipeg Jets come alive in the second period with two goals that set the pace for their eventual triumph. With a total of 28 shots taken throughout the game and a shooting percentage of 14 percent, they demonstrated precision and timing. The powerplay unit was particularly effective, converting two out of four opportunities into goals which were crucial to securing their lead.

Defensively, the Jets were just as formidable. Their goaltender was outstanding between the pipes, saving all but two of the 37 shots faced for an impeccable save percentage of 100 percent during even strength play. This defensive prowess was complemented by an aggressive offense that notched up four goals against their opponents.

In terms of physicality, both teams brought intensity to the ice; however, it was Winnipeg who emerged less bruised with only six penalties amounting to fifteen penalty minutes compared to Vancouver's seven penalties totaling twenty-five minutes. Despite this aggression from both sides, discipline remained intact as major disruptions were avoided.

Special teams played a significant role in this matchup as well. While both teams had equal powerplay chances with four each, it was Winnipeg's efficiency that shone through – they boasted a powerplay goal percentage of fifty compared to Vancouver's zero percent success rate on their man advantage situations.
