The Jets entered Madison Square Garden with determination. Despite a goalless first period, they turned up the heat in the second, netting three goals to take control of the game. The team's shooting accuracy was impressive, with a shooting percentage of 15 percent from their total of 27 shots on goal. This offensive surge was complemented by their goaltender's flawless performance; he saved all 38 shots faced, securing a save percentage of 100 percent.

Defensively, the Jets were just as formidable. They blocked an admirable number of attempts from the Rangers—17 in total—while also delivering 16 hits during play. Discipline was also on display as they limited themselves to just two penalties for four minutes.

On special teams, Winnipeg capitalized on one out of three powerplay opportunities thanks to their five-on-four advantage that lasted for three minutes and twenty seconds. Their powerplay unit won three faceoffs and maintained an impressive faceoff win percentage at even strength (51 percent) and during powerplays (60 percent).

The Rangers put up a strong fight despite being outmatched this time around. They managed to score twice from their substantial tally of 40 shots but struggled with only five percent shooting accuracy against Winnipeg's stalwart defense and goaltending.
