The game at Denver's Ball Arena saw the Winnipeg Jets put up a valiant effort against their opponents. Despite falling short in this matchup, there were notable performances and statistics that stood out for the Jets. The team managed to hit their opponents with significant force, recording a total of 41 hits throughout the game. Their powerplay unit found success once during two opportunities, contributing to one of their two goals scored on just 24 shots.

Winnipeg's faceoff circle work was impressive as they won 37 out of 61 faceoffs, translating to a strong faceoff win percentage of 61 percent. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the Avalanche's offensive surge in the third period where they scored five times.

On defense, Winnipeg blocked an admirable number of shots with players stepping into shooting lanes for a total count of 19 blocked shots. This defensive effort was part and parcel of their attempt to stifle Colorado’s attack but ultimately proved insufficient against an aggressive Avalanche offense that capitalized on its chances.

Goaltending for Winnipeg showed resilience despite being under siege; making an impressive total save count at 34 saves from a barrage of shots faced throughout three periods. Unfortunately for them and their fans back home in Winnipeg, it wasn't enough as they conceded six goals overall including one empty-netter which sealed their fate late in the third period.
