First Period

The opening period saw both teams struggling to find their rhythm as neither side managed to score. The Jets displayed solid defense with Josh Morrissey leading by example through his effective play on ice. Connor Hellebuyck was steadfast between the posts, making crucial saves that kept Utah at bay.

Second Period

The second period was pivotal for both teams but especially for Utah. The Mammoth broke through with two goals that shifted momentum significantly in their favor. Mikhail Sergachev and Dylan Guenther were instrumental during this phase, each contributing to Utah's offensive push which proved challenging for Winnipeg’s defense.

Third Period

In an attempt to rally back into contention during the third period, Mark Scheifele scored for Winnipeg alongside Dylan DeMelo who found success with his precise shot accuracy. However, despite these efforts and maintaining pressure throughout most of this segment—evidenced by their total shots reaching 30—the Jets couldn't overcome Utah's lead established earlier.
