They were outplayed in terms of efficiency (99 compared to Detroit's 131) and struggled with turnovers (15), which translated into points off turnovers for the Pistons. The Heat also lagged in bench production, scoring only 19 points from non-starters compared to Detroit's overwhelming 54 bench points.

However, it wasn't all doom and gloom for Miami; they showed resilience by leading for almost half of the game time (22:52) and had an impressive second-chance point tally of 11 thanks to their offensive rebounding efforts. Their free throw percentage stood strong at roughly 77 percent but it wasn't enough to counteract their shortcomings elsewhere.
