First Inning

The game began with both teams struggling to find offensive rhythm. The Blue Birds managed to get two hits but couldn't convert them into runs. Meanwhile, the Fightin' Phils also recorded one hit but were unable to capitalize on it.

Fifth Inning

After four scoreless innings, the Birds finally broke through in the fifth inning. A solo home run provided by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who was instrumental in last season's performances, put Toronto on the scoreboard and gave them a crucial lead.

Sixth Inning

The sixth inning saw further action from Toronto as they extended their lead. With two more runs added thanks to another homerun and strategic hitting, including contributions from Alejandro Kirk who maintained an impressive .500 average in his previous game, they solidified their position against Philadelphia's pitching staff.

Final Innings

As the game progressed into its final stages, Toronto's bullpen held firm against any potential comeback attempts by Philadelphia. The Phils managed only four hits throughout nine innings due to stellar pitching from Eric Lauer and Adam Macko among others who kept Philadelphia scoreless.
