In an impressive display of offensive firepower, the Pirates came out swinging in the first inning, racking up four runs on three hits. This early surge set the tone for the rest of the game. The second inning saw them add another run to their tally through two more hits. Although they didn't score in innings three and four, they continued to apply pressure with two hits in each inning.

The fifth inning proved fruitful once again for the Pirates as they capitalized on two additional hits to bring in two more runs. Their relentless offense was supported by solid pitching throughout nine innings that kept Nationals hitters largely at bay.

Martín Pérez emerged as a key player for Pittsburgh's pitching staff, securing his first win of the season. His performance was complemented by Aroldis Chapman who held strong and David Bednar who closed out with his first save despite having one blown save this season.

On defense, despite committing one error which led to an unearned run for Washington in the fourth inning, Pittsburgh displayed overall efficiency on fielding plays with six assists and one double play turned over nine innings.

Washington's efforts were led by Josiah Gray who unfortunately took his second loss of this young season despite battling through several innings against a tough Pirates lineup that boasted an average hitting .314 and left ten runners stranded on base throughout their turns at bat.

As fans look forward to more action from their team, they can mark their calendars for an upcoming game where Pittsburgh will host Baltimore Orioles at PNC Park located at 15212 Pittsburgh PA USA. This matchup is scheduled for April 5th at 8:12 PM Eastern Time and will be broadcasted on MASN2 network where fans can tune in to watch live coverage of what promises to be another exciting game as part of this regular season series.
