In an intense matchup at Oracle Park, the Pirates' offense struggled to find its rhythm against the Giants' pitching staff. Despite managing only five hits throughout nine innings, Pittsburgh showed resilience by scoring one run in the fifth and adding another in the ninth. Jared Jones took to the mound as starting pitcher for Pittsburgh but suffered his third loss of the season after giving up three earned runs over five innings pitched – all scored during a challenging third inning for him where he allowed five hits including two home runs which contributed significantly to his ERA rising to 5.4.

The Giants capitalized on their opportunities during that pivotal third inning when they amassed all their eight hits and scored all three runs that would eventually seal their victory despite being limited to just one hit outside that frame.


San Francisco's Keaton Winn was credited with his third win after delivering quality pitches from relief position while Camilo Doval secured his fifth save of this season by closing out any hopes for a late Pirates comeback.
