Pirates Outslug Brewers in High-Scoring Affair at American Family Field

The Brewers put up a resilient fight scoring six runs off thirteen hits but were unable to overcome Pittsburgh's lead despite out-hitting them equally with thirteen hits of their own. Milwaukee's efforts were highlighted in the eighth inning when they scored four runs but ultimately fell short due to defensive lapses that led to one error over nine innings.


Mitch Keller earned his fourth win for Pittsburgh thanks to his pitching performance which helped contain Milwaukee's lineup through critical phases of the match. David Bednar secured his eighth save of the season by closing out any hopes for a Brewers' comeback late in the game.
