Pirates' Early Lead Fades as Cubs' Tenth Inning Drive Seals Victory at Wrigley Field

The Pittsburgh Pirates faced off against the Chicago Cubs in a tightly contested game at Wrigley Field. The Pirates, now holding a 29-44 record, were unable to maintain their early advantage, ultimately falling to the Cubs, who improved their standing to 44-28 with a final score of 3-2.

First Inning


The game began with an impressive start for the Pirates. They quickly took control by scoring 2 runs in the first inning. With three hits and no errors, Pittsburgh's offense seemed poised for success. Spencer Horwitz contributed significantly during this period with his consistent performance at bat. However, despite this promising start, the Bucs were unable to capitalize further throughout the game.


Second through Sixth Innings


As the innings progressed from second through sixth, both teams struggled offensively. The Pirates managed only one hit during these innings while maintaining solid defense without committing any errors.
