The White Sox opened their scoring in the second inning with one run, followed by another single run in the fourth and their final run in the seventh inning. Despite accumulating nine hits throughout the game and maintaining an error-free performance on defense, it wasn't enough to secure a win. The team's batting average was .273 for this game, with an on-base percentage (OBP) of .351 and slugging percentage (SLG) of .394. They managed to convert two out of seven at-bats with runners in scoring position into hits but left seven teammates stranded on base.

On individual performances, White Sox hitters showed resilience against Toronto's pitchers by drawing four walks and hitting one home run among their nine total hits. Their efforts to advance bases were evident as they successfully stole three bases while being caught only once.

The pitching side told a different story for Chicago. The bullpen struggled significantly during its time on the mound, allowing four runs over two innings pitched which inflated their earned run average (ERA) to 18.00 for this segment of the game. Overall pitching efforts resulted in an ERA of 10.125 across eight innings pitched by both starters and relievers combined.

In contrast, Toronto capitalized effectively on their opportunities at bat by amassing twelve hits leading to nine runs scored across various innings including multiple-run spurts in both second and third innings as well as consistent scoring later into seventh and eighth innings.
