The game was marked by commendable performances from several members of the White Sox squad. Starting pitcher Davis Martin took to the mound with determination, achieving an earned run average of 1.8 and allowing walks plus hits per inning pitched at a rate of 1.6 over five innings. His effort included striking out seven batters per nine innings and limiting his on-base percentage allowed to .348. Andrew Vaughn also made significant contributions offensively with two RBIs while maintaining both a batting average and slugging percentage of .333 each. Rookie Brooks Baldwin made sure he was noticed by hitting .500 for the day.
