First Inning

The game began with a strong start for the M’s, who managed to score 2 runs on just one hit. The South Siders struggled initially, going scoreless in their first inning without any hits.

Second Inning

In an explosive second inning, Seattle extended their lead by scoring five more runs. The White Sox responded with one run from two hits but also committed an error that hindered their momentum.

Third Inning

Both teams added another run each in the third inning. The South Siders' Curtis Mead contributed significantly by driving in a run, showcasing his consistent performance from previous games where he maintained a .250 average and .25 on-base percentage.

Seventh Inning

After several quiet innings from both sides, Chicago made a notable comeback attempt in the seventh inning by scoring three runs off three hits. Michael Tauchman was instrumental during this period, hitting his second home run of recent games and boosting his impressive .500 average and 1.85 OPS.

Ninth Inning

In the final stretch of play, despite trailing behind throughout most of the game, Chicago managed to add another run thanks to Andrew Benintendi's efforts at bat. However, it was not enough as Seattle's defense held firm until closing time.

Overall pitching for Chicago saw mixed results; Jonathan Cannon struggled early on with an ERA of 37.8 over just under two innings pitched but Tyler Alexander provided some relief later on maintaining zero earned runs across multiple appearances recently noted for his low WHIP rate (0.4615).
