The game at Barclays Center saw the Brooklyn Nets take control in a remarkable second quarter surge where they outscored the Hawks by a substantial margin. This period was pivotal as it set the tone for the rest of the contest. The Nets' offense was firing on all cylinders, with an impressive field goal percentage of 47 and an even more striking three-point shooting display, hitting 47 percent from beyond the arc.

A key aspect of Brooklyn's victory was their bench contribution which added a solid 16 points to their total score. In contrast, Atlanta's bench outscored them with 28 points but it wasn't enough to overcome Brooklyn’s overall team performance.

On individual performances for the Nets, they were led by star players who made significant contributions across various statistical categories including rebounds where they grabbed a total of 53 compared to Atlanta’s tally of 55. Both teams drew nineteen fouls each but it was how efficiently those opportunities were used that made a difference; Brooklyn had a free throw percentage of seventy-seven while Atlanta managed seventy-four percent from the line.
