The home team started strong, outscoring their opponents in the first quarter by two points. However, as the game progressed, they struggled to maintain their lead. The Bulls' efforts were led by their ability to draw fouls and capitalize on turnovers, scoring 22 points off turnovers compared to the Thunder's 16. Despite this advantage and having more opportunities for second-chance points with seven made from fifteen attempts, it wasn't enough to secure victory.

The Chicago team's shooting was less effective than that of their rivals; they shot at 42 percent from beyond the arc and just under 52 percent for two-pointers. Their free throw percentage matched that of Oklahoma City at approximately 78 percent but fell short in fast break situations where they only converted two out of seven attempts into eight points.

Defensively, both teams had similar rebound numbers; however, it was notable that Chicago managed ten steals over Oklahoma City's six. Yet this defensive effort did not translate into controlling Oklahoma City’s offense which boasted an impressive field goal percentage of nearly 55 percent and an even more remarkable three-point shooting performance at approximately 49 percent.

Oklahoma City demonstrated strong offensive execution throughout all four quarters. They led for over half an hour in game time and established a significant lead of up to twenty-one points during play. Their efficiency on court was evident as they scored forty points within paint boundaries and added seventeen fast break points thanks to converting seven out nine fast break opportunities.
