The Bulls started strong with a solid first quarter, putting up 32 points against the Lakers' 31. However, momentum shifted as they fell behind in the second quarter by scoring only 25 points to the Lakers' commanding 42. The third and fourth quarters saw a resurgence from Chicago as they scored 36 and then ramped up to an impressive 39 points respectively but it wasn't enough to close down their opponents who maintained their lead.

Chicago's offense was firing on all cylinders; they shot an efficient field goal percentage of 53 and were particularly effective inside, hitting a remarkable two-point shooting percentage of nearly three-quarters success rate (69). From beyond the arc, they managed to sink twelve out of thirty-seven attempts which translated into a three-point shooting percentage of about one-third (32). At the charity stripe, they were almost flawless with a free throw percentage rounding up to nine-tenths (90).

Despite their offensive efforts which included racking up fifty-four points in paint and twenty from turnovers caused by seven steals alongside six blocks defensively, it was not enough. The Lakers outpaced them with higher efficiency numbers across various metrics including field goal percentage (61), three-point shooting (64), and true shooting percentage which stood at an astounding two-thirds approximately (74).

The Los Angeles team also had ten steals contributing significantly to twenty-six points off turnovers. They led for most of the game clocking over thirty-eight minutes ahead while building their biggest lead to twenty-four compared to just four for Chicago.

Looking forward for Chicago Bulls fans is another challenging matchup as their team travels westward again. This time they will face off against Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center on January 28th at around eight o'clock PM Central Time. Fans can catch this upcoming contest live on NBCS-CHI or ROOT Sports NW depending on their location.
