Bulls Charge Past Pelicans at Smoothie King Center in a Close Encounter

The Chicago Bulls, with a season record of 27-30, edged out the New Orleans Pelicans, who currently hold a 34-24 record, in a tightly contested game that ended 114-106. The Bulls showed resilience and tactical acumen to secure the victory.

In an impressive display at the Smoothie King Center, the Chicago Bulls demonstrated their offensive capabilities by scoring consistently across all four quarters. The team's performance was highlighted by their effective field goal percentage of 50 and true shooting percentage of 55. Despite not registering any blocks throughout the game, the Bulls managed to maintain a positive plus-minus of eight.


The Chicago squad excelled in creating scoring opportunities as evidenced by their high assist count at 29 for the game. They also capitalized on turnovers effectively, converting them into 19 points. Their ability to draw fouls was notable as well; they went to the free throw line for a total of 21 attempts and made an impressive 90 percent of those shots.

On defense, although they allowed points in paint equal to their opponents at 46 each, they were able to contain further damage with solid rebounding efforts – grabbing a total of 55 rebounds with an especially strong showing on defensive boards where they collected 37 rebounds.


The Pelicans put up a formidable fight led by their own efficient shooting; they finished with an effective field goal percentage slightly higher than that of the Bulls at 54 percent and made good use of second-chance opportunities contributing to their overall efficiency rating.

However, it was ultimately turnovers that proved costly for New Orleans as they committed a total of nineteen which hindered them from maintaining control over the game flow despite having led for nearly half (19:35) compared to twenty-one minutes and thirty-one seconds for Chicago.
