The Warriors entered the State Farm Arena in Atlanta with determination. They started strong, leading the first quarter by five points but were slightly outpaced in the second quarter as they trailed by two points at halftime. The third quarter saw them fall behind further and despite a valiant effort in the fourth to take back control, including an impressive 34-point surge that forced overtime, they couldn't clinch victory.

Golden State's offense was firing on all cylinders with an effective field goal percentage of 53 and true shooting percentage reaching 56. Their scoring was well-distributed among players; however, it was their bench that contributed a significant 39 points to their total tally. The team also showed strength inside by scoring 56 points in the paint.

Defensively though, there were challenges for Golden State as they allowed Atlanta to score heavily from close range too – giving up 72 paint points. While both teams grabbed an equal number of rebounds at 65 each and blocked shots were relatively even (Warriors with seven and Hawks with four), turnovers told another story; Golden State gave up possession fourteen times compared to Atlanta's eight.

One standout statistic for Golden State was their free throw accuracy which stood at an impressive eighty percent from twenty attempts. However, three-point shooting wasn't as successful – only eighteen out of fifty-six attempts found their mark resulting in thirty-two percent efficiency from beyond the arc.

The game saw fourteen ties and seventeen lead changes indicating how closely matched these two sides were throughout regulation time and into overtime. Ultimately though it was Atlanta who managed better execution down the stretch securing eighteen points in overtime against eleven by Golden State which sealed their win.

Looking ahead after this tough loss on foreign court fans can catch The Golden State Warriors next game against Brooklyn Nets scheduled on February fifth at four-thirty PM Pacific Time at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on NBA TV channel two hundred sixteen or NBCS-BA channel six hundred ninety-six for away fans wanting to follow along live.
