Indiana Pacers' Strong Start Fizzles as Boston Celtics Dominate Second Half at TD Garden

The Indiana Pacers faced off against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden, resulting in a 126-110 loss for the visitors. The Pacers now hold a 47-35 record, while the Celtics improved to 64-18. Despite a promising start, Indiana could not maintain their momentum against Boston's relentless offense.

Indiana began the game with a solid first quarter, scoring 27 points compared to Boston's 25. The second quarter saw a slight dip in performance from the Pacers as they managed only 24 points while allowing the Celtics to score 32. By halftime, it was clear that adjustments were needed for Indiana to regain control of the game.


In the third quarter, Indiana scored 29 points but struggled defensively as Boston put up an impressive 36 points. The final quarter saw another strong offensive effort from Indiana with 30 points; however, it was not enough to counteract Boston’s consistent scoring and defensive pressure which resulted in them adding another 33 points.

Key players for Indiana included those who contributed significantly to their total of 110 points and maintained an overall field goal percentage of approximately fifty-two percent. They also achieved thirty-eight percent accuracy from beyond the arc and sixty-nine percent from free throws.


Defensively, Indiana recorded two blocks and five steals but committed sixteen turnovers which proved costly against an efficient Celtics team that capitalized on these mistakes by scoring twelve points off turnovers. Additionally, despite having twelve offensive rebounds leading to thirteen second-chance points, they were outperformed by Boston’s eighteen second-chance points.

Boston's defense held firm throughout most of the game with nine steals and two blocks while maintaining fewer total fouls than Indiana (16 compared to Pacers' twenty-three). Offensively they shot fifty-three percent from field goals including forty percent on three-pointers along with eighty-five percent accuracy on free throws contributing towards their final tally of one hundred twenty-six.


The upcoming game will see these teams clash again at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on May 25th at approximately half past eight PM Eastern Time where fans can catch all action live via ABC network broadcast.
