Indiana Pacers at Frost Bank Center: Did Andrew Nembhard’s 7 assists keep pace with the Spurs?

The Indiana Pacers moved to 15-56 after a 134-119 road result against the San Antonio Spurs, who advanced to 53-18 at Frost Bank Center.

First quarter


The Pacers opened with 29 points in the first quarter while the Spurs set the early margin with 42 points.


San Antonio’s stretch was fueled by 55 percent shooting for the game and a 64 percent mark on 2-point attempts that showed up immediately.


Second quarter


The Pacers scored 24 points in the second quarter and finished the night with 38 assists on 44 made field goals.


Andrew Nembhard’s 25 points and 7 assists anchored Indiana’s creation, and Jarace Walker added 21 points on 80 percent shooting in support.


The Spurs matched Indiana with 24 points in the quarter, and their bench produced 54 points to keep the pressure on.


Third quarter


The Pacers posted 32 points in the third quarter behind 46 percent shooting from 3-point range on 35 attempts.


The Spurs put up 34 points in the third quarter, and their 76 points in the paint reflected repeated finishes at the rim.
