Grizzlies Claw Past Pistons at Little Caesars Arena in Hard-Fought Victory

In a competitive matchup at Little Caesars Arena, the Memphis Grizzlies and the Detroit Pistons clashed in an NBA game that saw the visitors emerge victorious with a final score of 116-102. The Grizzlies improved their season record to 6-14, while the Pistons' struggle continued as they fell to 2-19.

The Memphis Grizzlies displayed a solid performance on both ends of the court. They led for nearly half of the game's duration and managed to build their biggest lead to 14 points. The team's efficiency was evident with an overall field goal percentage of 52 and three-point shooting at 42 percent. The Grizzlies were also successful from the free-throw line, making 78 percent of their attempts.


Defensively, Memphis was just as impressive, recording eight blocks and ten steals during the game. Their defensive efforts held the Pistons to one point per possession while they scored an average of 1.14 points per possession themselves. This defensive tenacity contributed significantly to their plus-minus rating of +14.


On offense, Memphis showed balance and depth with contributions across the board; bench players added a significant 33 points to their total score. The team excelled in paint scoring as well, registering a notable 50 points in that area.


The Detroit Pistons fought valiantly but could not keep pace with their opponents' scoring efficiency despite having more assists than Memphis with a count of 30 compared to Memphis's tally of 26 assists for this game. The home team did outscore Memphis in fast break points by five but ultimately fell short where it mattered most on the scoreboard.
