Grizzlies Grapple at Crypto.com Arena: Memphis Falls to Los Angeles Lakers

In a high-scoring affair at the Crypto.com Arena, the Memphis Grizzlies faced off against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Grizzlies, with a record of 2-9, were unable to secure victory against the 6-5 Lakers, culminating in a final score of 134-107.

The game saw the Memphis Grizzlies put up a valiant effort despite being outmatched by their opponents. The team's scoring was consistent across all four quarters with contributions of 26, 25, 35 and finally 21 points as they tried to keep pace with the high-flying Lakers offense. Despite trailing behind in scoring for most of the game and only leading for just over two minutes, Memphis managed to block nine shots and steal possession eight times.


Memphis' bench made significant contributions totaling an impressive 72 bench points which showcased their depth. They also demonstrated accuracy from beyond the arc making twenty three-pointers at an effective rate of thirty-eight percent. Their free throw performance was reliable as well with a seventy-five percent completion rate on twelve attempts.


On defense however, there were challenges as they allowed one hundred thirty-four points against them including forty points in paint where their opponents had better efficiency at fifty-nine percent compared to Memphis' forty percent on similar attempts. The rebounding battle was also lost by Memphis who gathered forty-four rebounds while allowing sixty-six to Los Angeles.


The home team capitalized on turnovers scoring ten points off turnovers compared to twenty-two by Memphis from such opportunities. Additionally, Los Angeles led comfortably for most of the game establishing a lead that stretched up to thirty-one points.


Looking ahead after this tough outing in California, fans can look forward to seeing if the Grizzlies can bounce back when they visit San Antonio Spurs at Frost Bank Center on November 19th at 7:00 PM Central Time (CT).
