At FedExForum, home of the Memphis Grizzlies, fans witnessed an intense battle where lead changes occurred 11 times and scores were tied on five occasions. Despite being on their home court, the Grizzlies could not capitalize on their opportunities as much as they would have liked. They started strong with a first-quarter lead but eventually fell behind due to a combination of factors.

The Knicks showcased solid defensive efforts with 11 blocks and an equal number of steals, which contributed significantly to their victory. Their efficiency was evident with an overall shooting percentage of 48 percent from the field and a remarkable 60 percent from two-point range. The visitors also dominated in rebounds, grabbing a total of 62 compared to the Grizzlies' 40.

On offense, Memphis managed to keep up with New York for most of the game. They posted an impressive free throw percentage at nearly perfect—87 percent—and outperformed in assists with a total count of 27 against New York's tally by two. However, struggles from beyond the arc were apparent for Memphis; they only converted nine out of their attempted three-pointers into points—a mere conversion rate of just over one quarter.

Memphis did excel in generating points off turnovers—23 compared to New York's lower figure—thanks largely due to their aggressive defense that led them to accumulate more steals than fouls committed during playtime: fourteen versus sixteen respectively.

Despite these efforts by Memphis players both defensively and offensively throughout four quarters worth playing time each lasting twelve minutes apiece (for regulation), it wasn't enough against New York's consistent performance across all fronts including scoring distribution among quarters which saw them leading for over half-hour cumulatively during this matchup while maintaining control even when faced with adversity such as having fewer remaining timeouts than opponents (two versus one).
