Grizzlies Claw but Cavaliers Gallop to Victory in Memphis Showdown

The Memphis Grizzlies, with a season record of 18-30, faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who came into the game with a 30-16 record. In an intense matchup at FedExForum, the final score read 108-101 in favor of the visiting team.

The Grizzlies opened strong, matching the Cavaliers point for point in the first quarter at 27 each and outscoring them in the second quarter by seven points. However, despite leading for over 22 minutes of game time and achieving their largest lead of twelve points, they couldn't maintain their momentum. The home team's efficiency was notable at 112 compared to their opponents' 121.


Memphis showcased a robust defense with twelve blocks and nine steals during the game. Their offensive efforts were led by contributions across the board resulting in twenty-five assists. The team also excelled at free throws with an impressive eighty-eight percent completion rate but struggled from beyond the arc hitting only thirty-two percent of three-point attempts.


On offense, Memphis managed forty-six points in paint tying with Cleveland's performance inside. They attempted fifty-two two-point shots making twenty-five of them which amounted to a forty-eight percent success rate from that range. However, turnovers proved costly for Memphis as they gave up thirteen possessions which translated into nineteen points for Cleveland.


Cleveland capitalized on their opportunities scoring twenty-two fast break points and adding forty-three bench points to their tally while maintaining control over personal fouls committing only sixteen throughout four quarters. Their field goal percentage stood at forty-eight percent as they made forty-one out of eighty-six attempts.
