The Grizzlies started strong with an opening quarter lead, putting up 28 points against the Hornets' 25. However, momentum shifted as Charlotte outscored Memphis in the second quarter by twelve points. Despite this setback, the Grizzlies managed to keep pace with their opponents for much of the game. The team's effort was evident in their statistics: they tallied up five blocks and twelve steals over four quarters while distributing an impressive total of thirty-three assists.

Memphis demonstrated efficiency on offense with a field goal percentage of forty-seven and were particularly effective from beyond the arc where they shot thirty-six percent. Their two-point attempts were also noteworthy as they made fifty-six percent of those shots. The team's ability to score inside was highlighted by their fifty-two points in paint out of sixty-five percent shooting from such attempts.

Defensively though, there were challenges as indicated by their defensive rating which stood at just over one hundred sixteen points per one hundred possessions. This was slightly below their offensive rating which hovered around one hundred eight points per one hundred possessions.

One area where Memphis excelled was capitalizing on turnovers; they scored twenty-four points off turnovers compared to sixteen by Charlotte. However, ball control proved problematic for both teams; while Memphis turned it over twelve times, Charlotte had nineteen turnovers during play.

Despite these efforts and leading for nearly fifteen minutes during playtime – including achieving their biggest lead at six – it wasn't enough to secure victory on this occasion.

Looking ahead after this tough encounter at Spectrum Center witnessed by seventeen thousand two hundred fifty-nine attendees, fans will be eager to see how the Grizzlies respond when they host New Orleans Pelicans at FedExForum in Memphis on February 12th at 7:00 PM local time (Central Time). The match will be broadcasted on BSSE channel six four nine for home viewers and BSNO channel six seventy-six dash four for those following from away.
