Grizzlies Claw Past Pelicans in High-Scoring Affair

The Memphis Grizzlies and the New Orleans Pelicans faced off in a game that showcased offensive firepower and resilience, with the Grizzlies emerging victorious with a 132-124 win. This victory improved the Memphis Grizzlies' record to 22-10, while the New Orleans Pelicans fell to 5-27 for the season. The game, held at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, was attended by 17,328 fans who witnessed a contest filled with impressive plays and strategic execution.

Key Performances from the Grizzlies


Several players stood out for the Memphis Grizzlies in this high-scoring game. Jaren Jackson Jr. led all scorers with an impressive 33 points, adding five rebounds, three blocks, and four steals to his stat line. His performance was pivotal for the Grizzlies as he shot 52 percent from the field and was perfect from the free-throw line. Ja Morant also had a notable game with 25 points on an efficient shooting night where he hit 73 percent of his shots from the field including an outstanding 75 percent from beyond the arc.


Rookie Zach Edey contributed significantly offensively as well as defensively; he scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds while blocking two shots. Desmond Bane's all-around play was crucial; he scored 18 points and dished out eight assists alongside four steals.


Pelicans' Effort Falls Short


Despite their loss, The New Orleans Pelicans showed tenacity throughout the game. They managed to score more fast break points than their opponents (30 compared to Memphis's 17) thanks to their aggressive playstyle which saw them attempt nineteen fast breaks over Memphis's twelve attempts.


Their effort inside was notable too; they scored fifty points in paint compared to forty-two by their opponents but struggled behind-the-line shooting only twenty-nine percent on three-point attempts which contrasted sharply against forty-two percent shooting by The Grizzlies.
