Grizzlies Grind Down Pelicans in a Close Encounter at Smoothie King Center

The Memphis Grizzlies secured a hard-fought victory against the New Orleans Pelicans with a final score of 107-104. This win improved the Grizzlies' season record to 40-24, while the Pelicans fell to 17-48. Key Performances from the Grizzlies


Ja Morant and Desmond Bane led the charge for Memphis with standout performances that proved crucial in securing this win. Morant dazzled with 32 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals. His efficiency on the court was notable as he shot 48 percent from the field and managed to convert 33 percent of his three-point attempts. Bane wasn't far behind, contributing significantly with 30 points, eight assists, nine rebounds, and two steals. His shooting accuracy was impressive; he hit 56 percent of his shots from the field and maintained perfect free throw accuracy.


Zach Edey also made his presence felt by dominating under both baskets. He tallied six points but more importantly grabbed an impressive total of twelve rebounds along with two assists and one block. Edey's defensive efforts were key in limiting second-chance opportunities for New Orleans.


Pelicans' Efforts Fall Short


Despite trailing for a significant portion of the game, The New Orleans Pelicans showed resilience throughout this matchup. They managed to take advantage of fast-break opportunities scoring fourteen fast-break points compared to seventeen by Memphis but were more efficient in their attempts achieving a fast break percentage of sixty-two percent.


Brandon Ingram led The Pelicans' scoring efforts but struggled against Memphis's defense which limited him significantly below his average performance levels.
