In their last encounter on May 25, the Timberwolves narrowly lost to the Mavericks by a single point (109-108). Despite leading for nearly 39 minutes and holding an 18-point lead at one stage, Minnesota faltered in the final quarter. Their shooting percentage was notably lower than Dallas's; MIN shot just 41 percent from the field compared to DAL's 49 percent. This disparity was particularly evident in two-point attempts where MIN managed only a 43 percent success rate.

One of Minnesota's strengths has been their bench performance. In Game 2 against Dallas, they scored an impressive 36 points off the bench compared to DAL’s 27 points. This depth could be crucial in maintaining energy levels and providing fresh legs during critical moments of the game.

However, turnovers have been a persistent issue for MIN. They committed nine turnovers in Game 2 and ten in Game 1 against DAL on May 23. These mistakes often led directly to points for their opponents—an area that needs tightening up if they hope to secure victory.

On defense, both teams were evenly matched with seven blocks each during their last meeting. However, MIN allowed more points in paint (54) than they scored (42), indicating potential vulnerabilities that DAL might exploit again.

The Mavericks come into this game with confidence after winning two consecutive games against MIN by narrow margins—108-105 on May 23rd and then again by one point five days later. Their offensive efficiency has been commendable; they converted over half of their two-point attempts across both games while also excelling at fast breaks with high conversion rates around seventy percent.

Dallas’s ability to capitalize on second-chance opportunities is another factor worth noting—they scored eleven second-chance points from twelve attempts during Game One alone—a testament not only towards offensive rebounding but also persistence under pressure situations which could prove decisive once more come tip-off time next week!

For Minnesota though it isn’t all doom-and-gloom despite recent setbacks: Their free throw accuracy remains solid hovering around eighty-one percent mark consistently throughout playoffs thus far ensuring any fouls drawn translate into valuable scoreboard additions without fail!
