In their last matchup on May 27, MIN fell short with a score of 107-116. Despite a strong third quarter where they scored 35 points, they couldn't maintain momentum in the fourth quarter. The T-Wolves' shooting was efficient overall, hitting 51 percent from the field and an impressive 62 percent from two-point range. However, their three-point shooting lagged at just 30 percent. Additionally, turnovers were a significant issue; MIN committed ten turnovers compared to DAL's fourteen but failed to capitalize on these opportunities.

Defensively, MIN struggled to contain DAL's offense. The Mavericks shot an outstanding 56 percent from the field and made half of their three-point attempts. This defensive lapse is something that needs immediate attention if MIN hopes to secure a win in Dallas.

In another close game on May 25 at Target Center, MIN lost by one point (108-109). They led for most of the game but faltered in crucial moments during the fourth quarter when DAL outscored them by eight points. While both teams had identical records going into this game (56 wins and 26 losses), it was clear that DAL's ability to execute under pressure made all the difference.

MIN showed resilience with seven blocks and seven steals but struggled offensively despite having more possessions than DAL (96 vs.92). Their bench contributed significantly with thirty-six points compared to eighteen from DAL’s bench—a positive takeaway for coach Chris Finch as he looks for depth scoring options heading into this critical matchup.
