In a dominant display at the Smoothie King Center, the New Orleans Pelicans extended their impressive season record by dispatching the Brooklyn Nets with relative ease. The Pelicans' offense was firing on all cylinders as they racked up an impressive field goal percentage of 47 percent and were particularly lethal from beyond the arc, converting 41 percent of their three-point attempts into points.

The bench played a significant role in this comprehensive win, contributing a substantial 49 points to the cause. This depth proved too much for the visiting Nets whose bench managed only slightly less than that with 44 points. Defensively, New Orleans was just as formidable; they amassed nine blocks and ten steals over four quarters of play.

One cannot overlook how well-rounded New Orleans' performance was – they outrebounded Brooklyn by eight rebounds (63 to 55), which included grabbing more offensive rebounds (17 compared to Brooklyn's 18) despite both teams having equal opportunities on bonus possessions. Moreover, their defensive prowess limited Brooklyn to shooting just under half from two-point range and an even lower three-point percentage at only about one-quarter successful shots.

The Pelicans also excelled in fast-break situations where they scored nearly twice as many points as their opponents (19 compared to just two for Brooklyn). Their ability to capitalize on turnovers was evident; scoring fourteen points off turnovers while allowing only twelve themselves showcased their efficiency in transition play.
