At the Smoothie King Center, fans witnessed an intense battle where both teams fought hard to dominate. The Thunder showcased their offensive might by maintaining a significant lead throughout most of the game. They managed to secure an impressive 26-point lead at one point and spent a commanding 38 minutes ahead on the scoreboard. Their efficiency on court was evident with an overall efficiency rating of 132 compared to that of the Pelicans' 78.

The Pelicans started strong leading by six points early in the game but couldn't sustain their momentum against a relentless Thunder offense. Despite having more assists than their opponents with a total of 24, they were unable to convert these opportunities into enough points on board. The home team's shooting accuracy was notably lower than usual; they made only half of their two-point attempts and struggled from beyond the arc with just nine out of thirty-six three-pointers finding their mark – translating into a mere twenty-five percent success rate from long range.

Turnovers proved costly for New Orleans as they gave up possession twenty times during play which led directly to twenty-two points for Oklahoma City. In contrast, OKC managed possessions more carefully with only thirteen turnovers and capitalized by scoring twenty-two points off turnovers as well.

Defensively, both teams recorded five blocks each but it was Oklahoma City's eleven steals that helped tilt defense into offense effectively. The Thunder also outrebounded New Orleans by three boards overall which contributed significantly towards controlling play and ultimately securing victory.

For fans looking forward to seeing how New Orleans will bounce back from this setback, attention now turns towards their next challenge away from home soil. The Pelicans are scheduled to take flight against Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum on January 27th at 7:00 PM local time (Central Time). This encounter can be caught live on TV networks BSWI channel number six hundred sixty-nine for Bucks' fans or BSNO channel number six hundred seventy-six dash four for those cheering on New Orleans Pelicans.
